Leak Detection

Mark Quartermaine has completed leak detection training presented by Wide Bay Water Corporation Queensland, which included:

  • Theory and practice of acoustic sounding
  • Theory and practice of acoustic logging
  • Importing GIS maps
  • Use of leak detection software
  • Correlation of leak noise recordings.

Surveys are conducted using leak noise loggers to detect leaks when the system is quiet. Leaks can be located on longer pipelines and information logged using PC based leak correlation.

Non-destruction testing method using sounding equipment to pinpoint underground leaks or leaks in walls and this can save you a lot of money on investigative work that may not find the leak.

Water Audits

Leak Search is an endorsed Waterwise Water Auditor

The latest Data Logger and electronic detection equipment is used to conduct water audits including:

  • Micro camera inspections to minimise any damage and to locate and confirm difficult to access concealed leaks
  • Electronic leak detection equipment to locate pipes and cables.

Water audits can also detect leaks in pipes and burst water pipes regardless of the type of pipe material and the application, i.e. residential, commercial or industrial.

Flow Monitoring

This service uses Data Loggers to detect unusual flow consumption or leakage problems. They can be used to monitor different sections of the water system to identify small or large water leaks in a localised area. Once the leak has been detected further inspection can be carried out.

Loggers are attached to the water meter and log the pulse of the meter as it rotates. This technology provides constant feedback on which to evaluate water consumption, or water wastage concerns. The data can be used to maintain documentation to show a comprehensive water management program.

Short and longer term monitoring packages can be tailored to suit your required.

Services are provided to:

  • Residential consumers to detect leaks and burst water pipes
  • Municipal and private utilities
  • Hospitals, schools, caravan parks, motels, hotels and commercial properties
  • Contractors, and
  • The mining industry.
